Description
Join us for our Women & Wisdom Series: The Type C Personality - The Hidden Struggle Holding You Back on Wednesday, March 26 at 1 p.m. EDT / 12 p.m. CDT / 11 a.m. MDT / 10 a.m. PDT. Are you over-accommodating and over-compromising? Do you give way too much of yourself to others? Do you hate conflict and avoid it whenever possible? Are you bad at delegating? These are all hallmarks of the excessively nice “Type C” personality. Many women fall into this category and struggle with getting ahead in the workplace and in life as a result. In this session, Anna White (Epsilon Chi, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) and Dr. Kore Nissenson Glied will talk about where Type C traits come from and share some simple, effective and proven strategies to better manage them. Dr. Kore Nissenson Glied is co-founder of the Type C Personality project as well as a clinical psychologist based in NYC. She worked as an assistant professor of psychology for 15+ years in NYC hospitals including NYU and Mt. Sinai. She maintains a private practice providing evidence-based treatments for anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Dr. Glied has published articles in peer-reviewed journals on OCD, PTSD, and chronic medical illness. She has her BA from Carleton College and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University. Anna White is co-founder of the Type C Personality project and is a former investment executive who spent 20 years working for a range of Wall Street firms in capital markets, private equity, equity research, and asset management. She experienced severe burnout at one point in her career which led to a chronic illness that was difficult to diagnose, treat, and recover from. Type C traits were a significant contributor to her declining health. She feels strongly about raising awareness of Type C so that people develop their full potential. She holds a B.S. and M.B.A. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
