Description
NCD Alliance is delighted to invite you to our thematic webinar on access to medicines, diagnostics and medical devices happening on 23 January 2025, at 14:00 CET. The 4th UN High Level Meeting on NCDs is a unique chance to renew global focus on access to essential medicines for NCDs and set the agenda to address barriers to diagnostics and medical devices. The NCD Alliance, in collaboration with the University of Geneva and a group of key NGOs, has developed a brief on access to essential NCD medicines and technologies which addresses these issues and makes five key recommendations for Member States, the UN and the WHO to renew their commitments to improve equitable access to NCD medicines worldwide. This webinar is an opportunity to share the brief, to galvanise the NCD community around the common issues surrounding access to essential NCD medicines, diagnostics and other technologies, and to come together under a shared agenda. In parallel, the WHO is updating its Roadmap for access to medicines, vaccines and health products, and the Access to Medicines Foundation released its new index assessing pharmaceutical company performance on access to medicines. The confirmed speakers include: Presentations: Christophe Rerat, World Health Organisation Claudia Martinez, Access to Medicines Foundation David Beran, University of Geneva Panel discussion: Moderation: Alison Cox, NCD Alliance Amy Israel, Union for International Cancer Control – Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition James Reid, Helmsley Charitable Trust Charles Gore, Medicines Patent Pool Vanessa Peberdy, International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations (IFPMA)/Coalition for Access to NCD Medicines and Products Enrichetta Placella, Swiss government Beatriz Champagne, Coalition for Americas’ Health (CLAS) Nupur Lalvani, Blue Circle Diabetes Foundation
