Housing affordability constitutes a key barrier to the advancement of equity as it remains a source of segregation. This panel addresses multiple dimensions of housing affordability including dwelling types and characteristics, evictions, accessory dwelling units, demographics, zoning, and land use as they relate to income and racial segregation, and inequality. Addressing a range of indicators, this panel will describe, identify, and offer solutions to issues affecting the affordability of housing and equity among residents in US and Canadian communities.
