Traumatic experiences in students’ lives can overwhelm their capacity to cope and ultimately, their capacity to learn, succeed, and thrive. School staff are an integral community support system that have a sizeable role to play in reversing the negative impacts of adverse childhood experiences.
Join colleagues from around the state to watch a set of documentaries that help us better understand trauma, how it impacts our bodies and brains, and what we can do as educators.
Film clubs include watching the film and engaging in discussion and are led by OEA members. Participants can earn 1 PDU per discussion.
