The second workshop will focus on the Montana Local Food Choice Act, recently passed. This workshop will help producers, food manufacturers, cottage food operators and farmers market managers understand what is and is not permitted, when, and how, under the new law. It will also highlight the effect of the law on traditional legal liability for a food related incident. This workshop will help 1) producers considering adding a value-added product to their repertoire and 2) producers diversifying direct sales products to include raw milk and processed meats understand the opportunities and challenges presented by the Montana Local Food Choice Act.
