AAHS/ASHT Webinar: Dynamic Stability of the First Carpometacarpal
The first half of this webinar will discuss the history and anatomical theories behind the dynamic stability approach to treating first carpometacarpal joint osteoarthritis. The second half will provide tangible information to include a dynamic stability approach to treatment in the hand clinic.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to apply anatomical knowledge to explain the dynamic stability approach to CMC OA to physicians and other team members as well as patients.
2. Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to analyze information from the medical record and clinical exam to stage/ recognize level of deformity in the first CMC joint and surrounding osteological structures and muscles.
3. Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to create a unique treatment plan that includes the principles of dynamic stabilization for their patients with first CMC OA.
4. Upon completion of this course, the participants will use clinical reasoning and critical thinking to progress patients with osteoarthritis of the first CMC through the course of hand therapy.
