Course Description: This workshop is designed for Advanced Placement World History: Modern teachers. It will cover the requirements of an AP class, in-depth ideas for organizing the course, and strategies to positively impact student achievement. We will look at the full scope of the AP exam, resources in AP Classroom, and pacing for the school year. We will discuss class format, pacing, reading requirements, specific writing processes, assessments, and overall unit planning and design.
-To better understand the mechanics of the AP World History Course and Exam.
-To improve our dependence on the Curriculum Framework in lesson planning and assessments.
-To develop instruction that emphasizes writing using the AP reasoning processes and historical thinking skills. We will focus on specific strategies for the SAQ, LEQ, and DBQ.
-To incorporate AP classroom into our curriculum.
