Connecting Families Meeting--Understanding Trauma: Helping Children & Youth Adapt & Cope
Connecting Families meetings provide an opportunity for caregivers to share experiences, challenges, and successes in a safe and supportive environment. embrella's Connecting Families groups provide a welcoming community where you can share resource parenting tips and benefit from connecting with other caregivers who understand your situation.

During this meeting, caregivers will watch and discuss a short video “Understanding Trauma: Three Core Needs of Children Part 3- Adaptive Coping” by Family and Community Services NSW. We will be focusing on this need and discussing the topic along with how we may be mirroring the correct or incorrect model of dealing with trauma. Understanding trauma will help you to support the children and young people in your care to feel safe, develop healthy connections with people, and use adaptive coping mechanisms to help them deal with their past.

There will be 0.5 in-service credit hours provided for attending this meeting. Caregivers in attendance will be entered into a gift card raffle.
