JD Centre of Art & IIC: 257 Meet the Artist: PR Daroz, ceramic artist

JD Centre of Art (JDCA) is delighted to collaborate with the India International Centre (IIC) for its Meet the Artist (MTA) programme. 

PR Daroz, ceramic artist is the guest for the 257th MTA and will speak on: 'Fire in the Soul', The Ceramic Journey.

PR Daroz
A graduate of College of Fine Arts and Architecture, Hyderabad and Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University Baroda, Daroz has been awarded the National Academy Award, by the Lalit Kala Academy, Delhi and was an elected Member of the prestigious International Academy of Ceramics, Geneva. Daroz’s passion for innovative and experimental use of equipment, adaptation of technologies to the Indian context and use of indigenous material have been a driving force in establishing many ceramic studios in several institutes of India. While having held a large number of solo and group shows, Daroz’s ceramic murals are much sought after in both, the private residences and public spaces across the country.

Dipalee Daroz
Based in Delhi, Dipalee Daroz practices and researches within the medium of ceramics. Having participated in several group and solo shows, she is also the recipient of a National Scholarship and a Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture. She has also received a grant from the Crafts Museum to study traditional Indian black pottery of Azamgarh.
