William Smith is a lifelong resident of New York City. In June 2022, William was elected a District Leader of the New York County Democratic Committee representing the 68th District (East Harlem). In January 2022, William was appointed to serve on the party judiciary committee, responsible for reviewing the party judicial nomination process whereby candidates for county-wide judicial vacancies (Civil Court and Supreme Court). In addition, he serves as Chairman of the Community Advisory Board for New York City Health and Hospital’s Metropolitan Hospital Center. William holds a bachelor’s of arts degree from The City College of New York majoring in political science and management administration. William is a graduate of the Congressional Black Caucus Institute Advocacy Campaign Trainings.
