Independent Living Skills Tips and Tricks

Join the Michigan Department of Education – Low Incidence Outreach (MDE-LIO) to discuss tips and tricks for teaching independent living skills (ILS). This free one-hour session is for professionals who serve students who are Blind/Visually Impaired and parents to learn a variety of methods for teaching ILS. Learn tricks for basic cooking, cleaning, laundry, dressing, organizational, and home maintenance. There is no one right way to teach ILS, so bring your ideas to share with the group!

It is important for participants to request accessibility accommodations at least three weeks prior to the event. Outside agencies MDE-LIO contracts with to provide accommodations cannot guarantee services if requests are made in less than three weeks.
