Abstract: Process management and documentation are monumental to technology and information security. The problem is making documentation both functional and understandable to every team member regardless of role. Process mapping can have a high return on investment if executed in a manner that is understandable. Process mapping and swim lanes make it easier to identify where issues may arise, where time and effort is being needlessly wasted, and where changes might be made to improve the process. Process maps bring together risk identification, mitigation management, and regulatory compliance into a visual depiction.
