Trail Ambassador New Volunteer Training Webinar 2022
Trail Ambassadors are volunteers that walk heavily used trails around the A-B Wilderness, making friendly conversation with hikers, giving them information and tools to help them minimize their impact.

The ABWF is seeking volunteers to do this important work on trails around Livingston, Gardiner, Cooke City, Red Lodge, and Absarokee, Montana, where we have seen dramatic increases in human impact on trails in recent years.

While ABWF encourages TAs to work on weekends when visitor use is highest, volunteers' schedule and time commitment are flexible. Volunteers can choose to hike the trail they are working or set up a table at the trailhead.

People with all experience levels in the outdoors are encourage to volunteer as TAs. In addition to training, ABWF provides volunteers with a manual meant to serve as a definitive resource while in the field.

If you have any questions about this program or would like more information, please contact us at If you'd like to sign up as a TA, please visit our website:

Looking forward to seeing you all either at one of our in-person trainings or here on Zoom!
