NV Cafe #20: Peace Lives Here: Opening up space for protection in Sudan & Ukraine

Join us on March 23 as Tiffany Easthom, NP Executive Director, shares the latest on how NP teams are opening up space for safety and security where others may have not thought possible. Tiffany will share stories and insights from her recent trips to NP's newest programs: Sudan and Ukraine. 

In Darfur, Sudan, NP built on our previous work of training and coaching local leaders in peacebuilding and civilian protection. In 2021, NP started working on the ground, alongside hard-to-reach communities, following an outbreak of inter-communal violence in the wake of the withdrawal of UN Peacekeepers.

And in 2022, the Russian invasion of Ukraine prompted NP to reconnect with Ukrainians we worked with in 2014 to start one of our newest programs. Now, NP works to protect civilians caught in the crossfire by supporting local aid organizations and volunteers working at the frontlines to keep their communities safe.
