Our guest will be our partner Laura Still, of Knoxville Walking Tours. She'll be talking about her new illustrated paperback, published by KHP, A Fair Shake. Planned last year for the centennial of the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment, but a bit delayed by you know what, that book is the most comprehensive examination of the Knoxville people and places involved in the women's movement, from its earliest beginnings in the 1800s to the first women to be elected to office in the 1920s and later. Laura has been researching the subject for years now, partly to inform her popular walking tours, especially the one known as "Misbehaving Women" about early feminism in Knoxville. Her Zoom discussion will include lots of pictures of key figures and downtown settings for this dramatic story.
