Join us, for a conversation with Faith in Indiana to explore co-governance, a new framework for organizers and police advocates to take responsibility to create the conditions to win, implement, defend, enforce, and sustain progressive policy reforms.
Together we will explore;
- With billions of dollars flowing to states and cities, thanks to the American Rescue Plan, what is required to equip governments to implement policy change with fidelity, deliver tangible results - dramatic drops in gun violence, over-incarceration, and reshape public safety, and sustain these changes over the long haul?
- How do we go beyond short term policy victories, and make a set of strategic investments in states that build capacity across multiple arenas of power; electoral, legislative, corporate, people, policy, and result in a more resilient democracy?
- How are newly emerging state-based organizing vehicles positioned to develop the human agency, align capacities, and advance multi-racial governing coalitions over the next decade?
This event is hosted by Neighborhood Funders Group's Midwest Organizing Infrastructure Funders, the Ford Foundation, and the Rural Democracy Initiative.
