Integrating resilience in and aligning the NAPs, NDCs, DRR and SDGs to national policies and planning
As part of the UN Food Systems Summit (UNFSS), under Action Track 5: Climate Resilient Development Pathways the UNFCCC secretariat has put forward the “Integrative Framework for National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (NAP-SDG iFrame)” among the game changing propositions for the UNFSS. The NAP-SDG iFrame follows a systems approach to coordinating the different entry points or aspects (e.g. climate hazards, sectors, actors, development goals and scale) of the adaptation planning cycle, and serves as a useful tool to manage coherence between the NAPs, SDGs, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and other frameworks. NDCs and the NAPs provide opportunities for different actors and stakeholders to strengthen, align or integrate specific issues including by systems (e.g. food, water and health). This event will present and discuss integrative approaches to scaling implementation of NAPs in concert with other plans.
