Yurina Yoshikawa returns on May 24th for Reading Between the Lines. This online event will offer close-reading of excerpts by Yurina of Yoko Tawada's latest novel, followed by an interactive discussion.
Scattered All Over the Earth is about a dystopian future in which Japan no longer exists and a Japanese woman who goes on a journey throughout Europe to find someone who can speak with her in her native tongue.
Yurina Yoshikawa holds an M.F.A. from Columbia University and teaches fiction and non-fiction writing at The Porch Writers’ Collective. Her writing has appeared in The Tennessean, The Japan Times, Lit Hub, and elsewhere. Yurina is also a book reviewer for The Japan Times. She was the winner of the 2020 Tennessee True Stories Contest and a 2021 recipient of the Tennessee Arts Commission. She lives in Nashville with her husband and two sons.
