Live in Japan long enough and you’ll see plenty of news articles about North Korea’s missile testing. Perhaps you’ve even heard the emergency alert system echo through the streets of Tokyo. How worried should we be about this unruly neighbor country? What does the relationship between Japan and North Korea look like, and how has it changed over time? Dr. Ryo Hinata-Yamaguchi, an expert in Indo-Pacific security issues and North Korean military affairs, will share his research with us. His presentation will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A session.
