Food Preservation and All the Tools You Need

Join us to learn food preservation techniques, treatments, tools and time to make the most of all your foods, from the garden or the grocery store.

The South King Tool Library presents this class with Carey Thornton with the Tilth Alliance. In this class will discuss the many methods to preserve foods from dehydration, pickling, and more. We will take a deep dive into water bath and pressure canning - plus the tool library will share the amazing tools available for FREE to start your food preservation journey.

Carey Thornton is a community educator with the Tilth Alliance based out of the Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands, manages the learning garden at Bradner Park and has also worked as an educator for the Garden Hotline. Carey has a lifelong love for growing, cooking and sharing food with others.

Tilth Alliance works in community with Washington farmers, gardeners and eaters to build a sustainable, healthy and equitable food future.
