GCR Webinar & Roundtable: RT Essential Standards in Cancer Plans

Given the recent focus on cancer plans in the US and Europe, on the “moonshot” and "groundshot” we’re working to ensure that RT is adequately captured as an essential part of these plans. The GCR is currently developing a new resource, similar to what we created with the Advocacy Toolkit. With so many varying cancer strategies and plans around the world, we wanted to develop a framework for local advocates to use as a baseline plan. This template will be designed to be a framework of essential standards for radiotherapy services which relevant stakeholders in each country can then adapt to meet their specific needs, infrastructure, healthcare system and resources.

We plan to utilize the April webinar to hear from experts who have worked to develop and implement cancer plans and then open the remaining time to discuss priorities to include in the framework. The GCR team will send a draft framework to key global stakeholders for feedback before we finalize. Once we have a finalized framework, we plan to promote it at various conferences through the abstract submission process, social media, press releases, etc.
