Sibshops ~ Join facilitators Mandy Young and Jessica Curry for this three part series
What are Sibshops?

Sibshops provide opportunities for brothers and sisters of children with special health and developmental needs to obtain peer support and education within a recreational context. These groups will be lively sessions that celebrate many experiences of siblings, including common joys, concerns, learning how others handle similar sibling situations, obtaining peer support and education. The sessions will be made up of a variety of activities and games focused on the shared experience of having a brother or sister with special needs.

Who are Sibshops for?
Sibshops are for 8 to 13 year olds who have a sibling with any kind of special health and developmental needs.

Who runs Sibshops?
Sibshops are run by certified facilitators who have an understanding of the impact a child’s challenges can have on brothers and sisters. Equally important, the facilitators have great kid skills!

When and Where do Sibshops run?
From everyone's feedback we are pleased to announce that we will be offering our first set of virtual Sibshop sessions this spring! They will occur on the second Monday of the month from 4-5pm (April 11th, May 9th, and June 13th).

How much do Sibshops cost?
Thanks to our partnership with Family Support Institute of BC, Sibshops is being offered free to participants.

Family Support Institute of BC (FSI) is a provincial not-for-profit society committed to supporting families who have a family member with a disability.
FSI is unique in Canada and the only grass roots family to family organization that has a broad volunteer base.
