OEP Forum_Cultural Heritage Data as Open Knowledge
Cultural heritage data is fascinating, both as a subject and a source for research. Digital collections and digital tools are means to foster innovation and therefore they should follow the principles of Open Knowledge. Together with a group of experts we will discuss what conditions are needed to tap into the potential of heritage data for research purposes, also in relation to a rapid growth of artificial intelligence (heritage for AI and AI for heritage). We will elaborate on the importance of international research programmes, cross-border collaborations, also in the context of the need for the same minimum set of rights for research across the world.
