-Financial Management for Self-Advocates
Presented by Dr. Anne Ryan and Sara Brown from STRIVE Worldwide
Join us while we identify the five building blocks of the budget: needs, wants, income, expense, and tracking spending. We will practice putting these together into a sample budget and discuss the difference between short-term and long-term savings goals. Understanding these building blocks will help you to develop a healthier relationship with money and be more aware of how our choices affect our budgets. You may want access to a calculator or calculator app for some simple math problems.
-Inalienable Rights: Self-determination for People with Guardians
Presented by Michael Brower from Disability Rights NJ
Learn about the legal rights that people always keep, even people who have a guardian. The session will touch on the most important protections, supported decision-making inside a guardianship, and how to enforce those decision-making rights if you disagree with your guardian.
