Navigating the Aspects of the Paid Medical Leave Act and the Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act
As a result of the 2018 efforts to enact legislation that would grant mandatory employer paid leave benefits (ESTA) and incremental minimum wage increases (IWOWA), the Michigan Court of Appeals has placed a stay on the legislation until February 20, 2023. Some of the key changes involve paid sick time for all employees (full-time and part-time) as well as an increase to minimum wage.

This session will allow attendees the opportunity to learn more about the legal and organizational implications of these acts and how businesses make staffing decisions.
