September 26th marks the United Nations International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons. This day commemorates the goal to strive for peace and security around the world without one of the world’s biggest threats. Despite the intention of this day, there still remains enough nuclear weapons to cause havoc and destruction for much of the global population and remains to do so with their presence. Not only that, most of the world’s largest nuclear powers have neither ratified nor signed the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons—a treaty that aims to prohibit the use of nuclear weapons. To learn more about this global issue, join us on September 26th at 4pm EDT to view and discuss the documentary, The Beginning of the End of Nuclear Weapons, and learn more about what we can do to enact a world without nuclear weapons.
The webinar will feature the 56-minute documentary, followed by a discussion about the film and the topic revolving around the disarmament of nuclear weapons. After discussion, members of the TPNW committee will address ways to take action for eliminating nuclear weapons and striving towards world peace.
