The Psychology of Christian Nationalism: Why People Are Drawn In and How to Talk Across the Divide
Join us for a three-week study group exploring the what, why and how of Christian Nationalism – offered by the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles’ Engagement Across Difference initiative in a Zoom meeting format.

How do we overcome polarization in American society? How do we advocate for justice when one side won't listen to the other and cycles of outrage escalate? These questions have been pressing for years, but the emergence of a vocal, virulent strain of white Christian nationalism has made it even more urgent that we find a way forward -- and Pamela Cooper-White offers us tool to do precisely that in her book "The Psychology of Christian Nationalism: Why People Are Drawn In and How to Talk Across the Divide."

• October 12, Chapter One - Unholy Alliances: Christian Nationalism, White Supremacy, and the Pursuit of Power
• October 19, Chapter Two – Why Are People Drawn In by Extremist Beliefs: Conscious Needs and Unconscious Lures
• October 26, Chapter Three – How to Talk Across the Divide: Creating Human Ties Across (Extreme) Difference
