A contained and safer space for People of the Global Majority (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) to share, heal, and expand with one another.
“It is in collectivities that we find reservoirs of hope and optimism” - Angela Davis
The pandemic has brought loss and devastation to our communities, who were already impacted by generations of race-based violence and trauma on top of political, social, and economic disenfranchisement. Many of us are experiencing exhaustion, burnout, and heartbreak. We don’t just need space to rest: we need to share and feel love in community.
The root of the word “healing” is “to make whole”. The question is: How do we make ourselves whole?
Come to this carefully curated space to “let your hair out,” where we will engage in mindful movement and liberating writing to release the issues trapped in our tissues, as well as support each other as we discuss our triumphs, tragedies, and tales of resilience and perseverance.
Join Wendy Martinez-Marroquin, co-founder of Allthrive Education, and guest facilitator adrienne danyelle oliver, poet-educator, hip-hop scholar and author of “Essential Truths: The Bay Area in Color” and “collective madness,” to get a dose of collective care to renew and uplift your spirits.
