Grab your coffee or tea, and join your mentoring program peers and MENTOR Virginia on Wednesday, November 17 from 9:00 – 10:00 am for Community Coffee Hour. We’ll be joined by four licensed mental health professionals for a panel discussion on how mentors and mentoring programs can help youth manage anxiety and depression. Here is a sneak peek of some of the questions our panelists will be answering:
--How can adult mentors and volunteers support young people who are struggling with mental health?
--What resources can mentors and programs connect young people / their families with when they are struggling with mental health?
--What is the best way for mentors to check in with young people about their mental health?
Note: this coffee hour will take place on the 3rd Wednesday of November due to the 2021 Virtual Conference that VPOST and MENTOR Virginia are hosting on November 9-10. Learn more about this conference here: https://www.v-postconf21.org/
MENTOR Virginia will virtually host Community Coffee Hour every 2nd Wednesday of the month with mentoring program staff to create space for peer-to-peer learning and resource sharing, and to address issues you and your organization might be facing during the pandemic and beyond. We hope to see you at an upcoming Community Coffee Hour!
