Let's talk about applying intersectionality part 2: What are the opportunities to apply intersectionality and transform public health action?

Taking an intersectional approach requires continuous critical reflection on both the complexity of the human experience and the actions necessary to disrupt oppressive systems. This is well aligned with public health actors’ intentions to address the structural and social determinants of health.

In this webinar, participants will engage in small group discussions and hear from diverse panelists with a range of perspectives on applying intersectionality in public health practice.

Learning objectives:

-Reflect on tacit knowledge shared by speakers with a diverse range of experiences and perspectives;
-Analyze opportunities to apply intersectionality in public health practice, programs, policy and research; and
-Engage in dialogue-based learning about applying intersectionality in their own organizational contexts.

La notion d’intersectionnalité en santé publique partie 2 : Où se situent les occasions d’appliquer l’approche intersectionnelle et de métamorphoser le travail de la santé publique?

L’adoption de l’approche intersectionnelle exige une réflexion critique constante au sujet de la complexité de l’expérience humaine mais aussi des mesures nécessaires pour désorganiser les systèmes d’oppression. La démarche s’harmonise parfaitement bien avec la volonté des acteurs de la santé publique d’agir sur les déterminants structurels et sociaux de la santé.

Des panélistes de divers horizons commenceront par faire part de leur point de vue quant à l’application de la notion d’intersectionnalité dans le domaine de la santé publique.
