Rally for Older Women to Age With Rights in Our Rural Communities!

Soroptimist International and the Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People are excited to bring this event to you with the partnership of Lugari Community Resource Centre, Mitini Nepal, Outright International and Days for Girls International. This event will build on the content relating to older women in the agreed conclusions from 2018. Come and listen to stories of older women activists from different corners of the world - stories of inequities they have experienced or seen toward older women in rural communities. Their stories will showcase the need to stand up for human rights and an international legally binding instrument for all older people. (ie. UN Convention)
Soroptimist International joined forces with the Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People to advocate for all older women! Soroptimist International with its 100 years of activism and members in over 120 countries advocates for the rights of older women as part of the Road to Equality campaign. The Global Alliance for the Rights of Older people with over 400 member organizations worldwide launched the Age With Rights Campaign in 2021 to strengthen the call for all older people to AGE WITH RIGHTS as they advocate for a UN Convention.
