Basic Organic Livestock Inspection Training will take place in Hopkinsville, Kentucky - May 23 - 27, 2022.
There are three steps required to be accepted into and participate in the IOIA Basic Livestock Inspection Training.
Step 1: Registration via Zoom by Monday April 11, 2022. Thank you!
Step 2: COMPLETE AND SUBMIT THE COURSE APPLICATION by Monday, April 11, 2022 to be considered for acceptance to the basic livestock inspection course.
Step 3: If accepted into the course, there is a REQUIRED 6 hour NOP Inspection Standards WEBINAR and the registration link to sign up will be sent to each participant.
The Basic Organic Livestock Inspection Training in class sessions are scheduled to begin and end:
START: 7:30 am Monday – Friday.
END: Monday – Thursday 3:30pm
END Friday 11:30am
There are evening assignments Monday – Thursday, due by 6:00pm Pacific Time
The training also includes evening assignments due by 6:00 pm Pacific Time for the evenings of Monday – Thursday.
The course provides basic level training to develop skills required for inspecting and reporting on the management of an organic livestock production operation.
Organic Livestock Inspection Training follows IOIA’s livestock curriculum requirements and includes instruction on applying and using NOP organic livestock standards; understanding the use of input materials; risk assessment; audit trail requirements; report writing; inspector conduct, confidentiality, and ethics; the difference between inspecting and consulting; effective communication; and organic inspection procedures for meat, dairy; fiber-bearing animals; and poultry (meat and eggs).
This training meets 5 times. Attendees are expected to attend all 5 sessions.
