Welcome to the spring and summer Special Olympics season! This spring, the virtual coach trainings will focus on the fundamentals of the sport, sport rules, and planning your sport training season. To get full credit for sport certification, please check with your state sports program (TN = Sean Stake, SC = Kelly Garrick, NC = Andrea Stamm).*
*Coaches based in NC will need to attend an in-person training to complete the practicum portion of the sport training, scheduled for March 4 (east - Greenville) and March 11 (west - Boone). See that registration form for more details.
We will again be collaborating with our neighbors, Special Olympics South Carolina and Special Olympics Tennessee, featuring clinicians from all three states. Coaches participating in these trainings from North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee will receive sport certification valid in their state.
Coaching Special Olympics Athletes will be held in-person at the trainings held on March 4 and March 11. This training is unique in that it is taught entirely by Special Olympics athletes.
6 p.m. - 8 p.m. ET: Bowling, Cheerleading, Volleyball, Swimming, Basketball
Every attendee will need to be an active participant in their selected training; meaning webcam must be on and be engaged in the dialogue for the duration of the training. If you have another obligation you are doing that day and time, we respectfully ask that you reschedule so distractions for you, the clinician and the other coaches are kept to a minimum.
