This seminar aims to explore the strategic importance of the Red Sea region, a critical maritime route for international trade and a key factor in regional stability. Given the increasing geopolitical and economic challenges faced by countries bordering the Red Sea, fostering international and regional cooperation is essential to ensure sustainable peace.
SPEAKERS:
Basim Al-Janani, A Yemeni journalist from Hodeidah, who will share insights on how media can raise awareness of humanitarian issues in Yemen.
Nasr Obaid, A human rights activist from Lahij, Yemen, focusing on the role of civil society in promoting peace and human rights in conflict zones.
Anees Abdullah, Head of the Al-Rasid Foundation from Aden, who will present his experience in monitoring and documenting human rights violations and its impact on international efforts for stability.
Nasr Al-Asa’i, A human rights advocate from Aden, who will deliver a paper on humanitarian initiatives and their role in alleviating civilian suffering in conflict areas.
The event will focus on discussing the roles of the international community and regional organizations in supporting stability through security cooperation and economic development initiatives. It will also review humanitarian efforts and human rights advocacy in conflictaffected areas. This seminar will provide a platform for interaction among experts, policymakers, academics, and human rights activists. Participants will exchange views on addressing current challenges and proposing practical solutions to enhance security and sustainable development in the Red Sea region.
