for a non-profit, do we use our 990 for that?

41:07
For a non-profit less than 3 years old can we still apply?

42:08
Good Morning Everyone, Again, I urge the City of Oakland and DVP to consider acknowledging nonprofits with ALCO SLEB Certifications for preference for city funding as well because this feels like yet another hurdle for small CBO’s and nonprofits.

43:51
how do we obtain a copy of our oakland business license? I have an account number associated with our tax license but have never seen an official license

45:11
It would be great if these entities could use new technology to reduce barriers to funding given all of the rising violence and all of the important work that CBOs are doing and still need to do to deliver direct services to communities in need.

45:34
nonprofits are the Article of Incorporation from Secretary of State acceptable?

45:55
Do we include consultants on a DE6? We are small and do not have employees.

46:07
Do nonprofits file a DE6?

47:14
You have probably already received a copy of your City of Oakland business certificate via email.

49:39
Your payroll provider has probably filed your DE6 on your companies behalf.

51:35
What does a nonprofit need to provide from the grants received.

52:16
We are a nonprofit that started in Oakland in 2019 and we have an Oakland Business certificate and do work with OUSD. However since we operate of my home office and I have moved to Alameda, we no longer have an Oakland address. Would this preclude us from applying for the violence reduction grant?

52:31
Hello Kareem from Dads Evoking Change. Question, What if your org is in its first 2 years of business and does not have 3 years or taxes

55:53
Can you also talk about renewal, please? Ours expired a few months ago and we haven't been able to figure out the process to renew it.

56:53
Can new start-up non-profit businesses apply?

57:02
After submitting all of the documents in iSupplier, how long does it typically take to get approval?

59:59
how do we know if we are requesting a re-certification or not? I'm new to my org, and I'm not sure of the history of our certification

01:01:04
Also, I submitted the request form a week or so ago and haven't heard back? How long does it take to receive the application?

01:03:34
What’snthat email again?

01:03:49
Got it

01:04:34
This certification is completely separate from the Business certification right?

01:04:47
^yes

01:05:33
Hi Ernestine, I sent you a few emails in the last few months but didn't hear back. I'm wondering if my emails went to your junk mail. What do you recommend to do in this case?

01:06:32
I truly appreciate this workshop for nonprofits as it has given some of the basic information that many small nonprofits are not aware of. I would still urge the City of Oakland to partner with ALCO to reduce the bureaucratic processes and to be a model to help ALCO do a better job walking small CBOs and nonprofits to navigate all of this type of documentation to get them prepared to be in a better position to get funding and support to do their work.

01:08:23
Are these budget ranges listed on the website to help nonprofits understand which one to apply for or does the City made that determination?

01:13:05
What kind of non-profits should be getting certified? Im a little confused about how this is helpful.

01:17:57
I appreciate your candid response that this is a political decision. Thank you for this workshop to help nonprofits understand this funding topic and documentation.

01:20:44
What is the deadline for certification/application?

01:21:31
Would you mind reviewing where we look online to see if our nonprofit orgs have lapsed certifications? Thanks.

01:24:46
Great thanks!

01:25:23
Will you provide a transcript of the Q&A with responses?

01:25:26
Thank you so much for this information - it is very helpful!

01:25:51
To clarify: we get certified on isupplier, then we receive an email with a certificate, then we have 30 days to apply?

01:26:00
Grateful for this training, City of Oakland!

01:27:04
Thank you for this very detailed workshop!

01:27:39
Got it, thank you
