Will you be speaking to the metrics associated with each of these strategic objectives?
The metrics that are currently listed in the vision are very generic …eg increase/decrease. A specific one is zero landfill by 2030 - these seems unrealistic given that we have only reduced it by 20kg in the past 5 years.
Given the Pandemic is unprecedented how is the council plan changing to reflect this?
What impact have rate caps had on council’s financial plan?
Given increased productivity and doing more with less why don’t council rates ever go down or at least stay the same?
How does this spend compare to other councils?
Can you provide some examples of asset renewals?
Health, aged and disability services are about half of what we spend on waste management. Nearly 40% it is spent on ‘things’. What don’t we invest more in people wellbeing instead of things? Local government should be all about the people! People have never suffered so much during this pandemics shouldn’t we realign our expenditure from bitumen and concrete to wellbeing.
