I agree w/John's point about unanticipated positive aspects of the new job -- where a peer's adjustments to present daily patterns may become surprisingly do-able.

Sometimes an opportunity arises that causes me to think about maybe needing to do things differently. The non-negotiable list is important to have, and at the same time we can problem-solve to satisfy those non-negotiables if needed. The more we use these tools to know our current situation, the better we are positioned to navigate to something different. Discerning whether or not we should try something that doesn't "fit" but feels right is the challenge. How do we discern? I recommend talking with others about your situation. You'll be able to explain it because you've documented all about yourself and your situation... so share that with someone you trust and ask the to help you through a discernment and problem-solving process. Who is your trusted job-search sounding board? It might be good to identify that person as you get started.

I agree. Attitude plays a large part. Life can have nice surprises in store, which actually align w/one's preferences -- perhaps just differently than initially considered.Terrific points, folks.

Does anyone have any questions about the questions/tools, or would you like to share some of your responses, or frustrations or successes?
