Good morning to all

11:21
Hi! Good to be here!

11:48
Hi, Robyn!

24:33
This is a great list. My challenge... doing it! I get stuck in my head with "What's the point?" It's not hopelessness... it's just a flatlined perspective and I end up not choosing to do the things that I love and that nourish myself. My answer... I have found that having an Accountability Buddy is invaluable. We text... "Hey, have you done your pushups today? I did."

24:51
I'm curious to know what additional self-care strategies others can contribute.

26:07
Hi Misako!

27:52
John: same in my life. Can very much relate!

28:19
surrrrrrrre it's the yoga ball

29:04
Elise's yoga ball. 😄

30:16
I make sure to be off the grid as much as possible, letting people know who need to know ahead of time. I make sure to talk a walk, to listen to beautiful music and read something "lighter". I don't do each of these things all the time but I have planned something.

31:26
"Accountabili-buddy." That's a good one.

32:50
good one.

34:31
I take baths!

35:14
My handbis raised. Easier than typing for me.

35:35
OK

35:38
music

36:40
focus modes I set up on my phone help me when I need to go about my day and even set the pace throughout the day ahead.

40:54
Misako, that's great!

41:47
I make plans to get together with friends/peers so I have something to look forward to

43:09
I hate the word "should"...I even wrote an article once about how the word "should" should (LOL) be banned!

43:34
sometimes I plan short trips; overnight or a couple days....to be in a different environment with supporters

48:18
Barbara: good tips! I've recently started to do that. Each month, I list whom I want to intentionally visit. Then I break it down by wk & look forward to seeing the person(s). And where in-person visits vs. just digital contact makes a HUGE difference for me.

49:05
I used to isolate by default. Am actively changing that habit.

I will be at my desk 15 mins. before the work day starts. Not just to rvw & pych myself up for the day -- but to assess my mh state, put myself in a positive mindset before my work day starts, what I'll do to take proactive mini-breaks to sustain my stable state or to minimize/turn-arnd a spike in my symptoms.I can do this in the car/bus en route to a job, or at home when I wake up. But I find doing this in the physical space of the job site(s) also helps me -- intentiomally looking at my work surroundings, intentionally touching the desk, door knob, etc. It helps me feel grounded in a work space that's not my own or just at home.

01:01:06
The pro-active grounding helps to empower me to manage my mh at work vs. my symptom-vulnerabilities over-powering me.

01:03:58

I think it can be really hard to request accommodations, even if you are entitled to them, because of the shame factor. Creates a lot of tension. Anyone else feel that way?

01:05:44
yes!

01:06:58
first time I was asked how I can be supported. I think because they are peer staff.
