A challenge we have in our community, currently, is to ensure inclusivity we really need to speak to these populations. Current data sets do not support these efforts to demonstrate impact (i.e. Census Data only shows m/f demographics).Thank you for sharing these data sets/sources! do they drill down to county level?

Replying to "Can you explain why ..."Can you explain why lesbian and bisexual women have higher rates of breast cancer?Barriers to care can affect breast cancer screening rates: fear of discrimination, low rates of health insurance, and negative experiences with healthcare providers. There is higher rates of associated risk factors, such as obesity, alcohol use, and lower rates of pregnancy (protective factor). Here are some sources to learn more: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3890640/ and https://www.cancer.org/healthy/cancer-facts/cancer-facts-for-lesbian-and-bisexual-women.html#:~:text=Lesbian%20and%20bisexual%20women%20may,may%20help%20save%20your%20life.

It does not have to come down to this, however, as an option, do you think that LGBTQ+ community accessing care from a physician from the same community could reduce the health disparity? If yes, are there data showing so and are there any such resources? There is limited data on this issue, however there is a study that shows that interaction and role modeling with LGBTQ+ physicians decreases implicit and explicit bias by medical students against LGBTQ+ patients (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28766125/). Again, there is not much data on LGBT medical students, but the most recent data (2017), shows that only around 5% identify as LGB (no data on transgender students) and may not publicly identify as LGBTQ+. Unfortunately, finding an LGBTQ+ provider as a LGBTQ+ patient may not be easily accessible.
