Barbara, involved with SO18 Big Local and TWICS as now a volunteer, especially around the community gardening project in Townhill Park and Harefield. (Also personally with growing food, we have really enjoyed having a small 'front garden' allotment in the front garden of our house, wild and prolific!)

Any idea about better ways of dealing the Council? I find some efforts people make are frustrated by too much control and restriction with the council. Possible ways around this?

If people want compost, BioCycle collects food scraps from houses and takes it to be composted, but currently don't have enough places to take it to, so if people want a large amount of compostable matter, we can make you a destination. Do think we need to be based in shop fronts or do you think we could use other venues, such as sheltered housing schemes? We have community rooms and kitchens in every scheme across the City, which can be used for free.

Unfortunately I can't stay to the end but been really informative and will try to attend more often. With the regeneration of Townhill Park which SO18 Big Local is involved in the meanwhile/movable growing project ideas are great. Will make sure SCC and the builder consider how this could be part of the development of the new community. Thank you.
