Some cosmos have foliage that is feathery (like dill, say) and other cosmos has foliage that looks for all the world like ragweed. You might have to fend off allergic neighbors!

I tricked my picky eater to eat kale. The kale salad you can get at Sam's Club, said it was coleslaw he ate it.

I shredded beets with carrots and made muffins, kids and adults eat them, no questions asked.

after picking kale try massaging it with a little olive oil and this will make it easier to chew.Kids may like this better and especially if you add some sweet dried cranberries.

Joanne, I've used the back fabric landscape weedstop. Worked one or two years, but really heated soil in the sun, baked some plants. I might try the straw as mulch this year. Good luck
