01:22:59
Great point! A lot of times we get clients who didn’t know their birth control wasn’t covered.
Molly Colley
01:23:12
Yes! And in addition to friends and family, if you are part of a community that struggles getting adequate care, ask around within your community - LGBTQ communities, message boards for people wanting to remain child-free. People with similar lived experiences can give some of the best feedback for who to see and who to avoid
Rachel Endo (she, her), A Step Ahead Chattanooga
01:23:39

Molly Colley
01:35:59
I am a mh provider, and I try to always make space for my clients to bring up any concerns with me directly. Sometimes, bringing up a concern gives the provider a chance to make a change or clear up a miscommunication. Without bringing it up, resentment can build and the connection can be broken or lost. Sometimes direct and clear communication can fix the issue
Rachel Endo (she, her), A Step Ahead Chattanooga
01:36:02
Yes, absolutely! Thanks, Nicole.
Michelle (she/they) A Step Ahead Chattanooga

Molly Colley

I've found that I've had to straight up tell a provider that I'm not interested in talking about XXX today ("I'm not here to discuss my weight, etc.), or that "I am aware i have XXX problem and I am doing the following to address that. Today I am here to discuss this unrelated issue. Providers will see a diagnosis or look at you and see you are overweight and will assume every other issue you have relates to that. It doesn't aways go over well but sometimes is effective.
Nicole Montgomery, FNP-C
