Dean Clickner, Director, Warren Washington Rose House, People-USA, 100% Peer run. www.people-usa.org

29:40
Will we have these recordings or slides?

36:12
can you add the link in chat please

38:05
I can't save or copy the chat.

40:59
We will share the recording on our website and can email a PDF of the slides to anyone that would like a copy. Just send your request to me at cafetacenter@gmail.com

41:23
Here is that link to the FACIT https://store.samhsa.gov/shin/content/SMA11-4633CD-DVD/EvaluatingYourProgram-COSP.pdf

44:43
It says page not found

45:15
I would love to have all of these links! we can't click the powerpoint

45:17
What is 988?

45:31
can you add the warmline link in chat

45:35
Yes if we could be emailed these links it would be wonderful

45:36
Sorry, SAMHSA changes web addresses sometimes.

45:38
The FACIT link leads to a The requested page could not be found message.

46:21
I will fix the link and send it out to everyone with the slides.

46:32
Thank you

46:39
Thank you!

46:47
Try this

47:18
Zoom doesn't make it easy to search the web and share slides at the same time LOL

48:00
Yes, Noon ET / 9 AM PT.

49:57
That's it, Jeremy. Thanks!

50:03
Since a lot of people are asking about the links, I will send out a PDF of the slides with clickable links to all attendees after today's webinar.

51:52
This is brilliant. Thank you so much. I almost didn’t attend because I’m so stodgy and so sensitive to language that I often speak of being allergic to terms like “consumer,” “mental health,” “lived experience” and, indeed, “peer.” I’m so glad to hear all this and eager to share with others.

52:55
That's wonderful to hear Irit!

55:15
I just graduated Howie the Harp Advocacy Center's bootcamp training and am very new to the peer world. I'm trying to absorb every information I can. Thank you so much for this webinar, it's so informative.

56:00
This is information I wish every legislator in California could hear right now. We have been trying so hard to show them alternatives to the awful proposal for CARE Court and to find a legislative partner to help get funding for these peer programs.

56:03
That's great Amilia! Thanks for bein here today.

56:32
This question may have already been addressed.... But, will this PowerPoint be shared?

57:55
Yes, since a lot of people asked about the links I'm going to send the slides out to everyone with clickable links.

58:06
The recording will be on our website tomorrow.

58:21
Sounds great! Thanks Jeremy!

58:27
Does anyone know of peer run spaces in New York State especially New York City?

58:52
Are you familiar with NYAPRS Katie?

58:55
I don’t know if I can learn enough in a few zoom sessions so I would love to immerse myself with a job

59:03
No, I’m not, will check it out

59:06
Thank you!

59:40
They are a well-established peer organization in NY. Definitely look them up.

01:01:20
Doesn’t NYAPRS stand for NY Assn of Psychosocial Rehab Svcs? News to me if they consider themselves a peer org though key personnel have been ppl w lived exp.

01:01:42
It looks great- but I’m talking about the respites and clubhouse orgs that I could possibly work at

01:02:02
Anyone know of anything in New York State? I know of Fountain House

01:02:25
Fountain House is great.

01:02:46
Not sure what the acronym stands for, but they've been around a long time so the words in their name might not reflect what people prefer now.

01:02:46
There's a clubhouse in long island city Citiview Connections Clubhouse

01:03:07
Very cool! Thank you. Any others? Respites etc? I want to really immerse myself

01:03:22
@Katie Wagner, People USA, people-usa.org

01:03:42
Can we also get the chat?

01:04:40
Sure. Just email me at cafetacenter@gmail.com with your request.

01:05:22
@Katie. Have a look at City Voices https://www.cityvoicesonline.org/ and their Peer Workers Support group at https://www.cityvoicesonline.org. You will meet other peer workers, maybe find connections to work, learning opportunities.

01:06:51
Fantastic, thank you all

01:07:47
Hi Irit.

01:07:55
@Katie. https://www.communityaccess.org has a job opportunity board

01:08:10
How de we get in contact with Cherene?

01:08:38
Cherene's email will be on the final slide

01:08:39
In BC, the Representative Agreement Act specfically excludes PADs.

01:09:08
Wow, that seems problematic.

01:10:02
Sorry, it's the Representation Agreement Act.

01:12:00
@Tina. You are correct. However, ED Harvey and all the staff I know wear their lived experience on their sleeve and they support and encourage peer support and principles. They are a great resource. Worth it just to be on their mailing list to keep an ear to the ground and hear what's going on today. Focused on New York but much national information there as well. https://www.nyaprs.org/

01:12:47
Completely agree Stan.

01:13:39
Here is the link to the Pennsylvania state specific Mental Health Advanced Directive: https://www.dhs.pa.gov/docs/For-Providers/Documents/Behavioral%20Health%20Services/Instructions%20%20Forms%20-%20English.pdf

01:14:52
Do you really find attorneys who will take advance directive cases?

01:15:03
@ Irit. I just got here Grrr

01:15:08
Note the areas which require signatures and witnesses which make this legal in PA. Theoretically, you can use your own form as long as you have these.

01:15:10
Does anyone have an example of a PAD ever having prevented the use of drugs, force, or anything else?

01:15:30
I have to leave for something else. Great presentation Cherene!

01:15:42
My e-mail address is jim.gottstein@psychrights.org

01:17:17
From what I have seen in my own experience in California, PADs are collected and disappear, never to be looked at again

01:17:30
oh shit, sam, sorry i forgot to remind you!!!!!!

01:18:00
I'm just SO bad at remembering time change

01:18:14
thanks you

01:18:24
never mind! video, slides and even chat will be available for later perusal.

01:18:29
yes

01:19:12
I'm from Canada, where can I find more info on some of these topics and my rights

01:19:28
We run a Peer Warmline here in Florida. Looking forward to joining next week.

01:20:02
Sean, issues vary by province. If you're in BC, maybe I can help.

01:20:18
Cannot wait to hear more about peer respites!

01:20:22
Sean, where in Canada are you?

01:20:26
I'm from Manitoba

01:20:34
Winnipeg

01:20:53
Sean, I have some info on this, actually.

01:20:58
I am guessing that most PADs would be ignored because after all, I might not have been in my right mind when writing it

01:22:45
https://www.madinamerica.com/2022/01/roll-988-threatens-anonymity-crisis-hotlines/

01:22:52
On PADs my preference is to not give credence to mh notions about drugs as treatment or to address personal crisis as something I’d want to discuss in legal document or make available to health providers or psychiatric personnel. For that reason I would include directives to not administer ECT or neuroleptics under any circumstances for any reason and to not administer any psychoactive drugs without my affirmative consent except narcotics for pain relief if I do not object, or any drugs for behavioral reasons.

01:23:24
I would include that in a regular AD form.

01:23:36
good plan Tina

01:23:49
https://slate.com/technology/2022/04/crisis-lifelines-surveillance-geolocation-algorithms.html

01:24:07
Would someone take that request to a lawyer?

01:24:26
I mean ORDER, not request

01:25:45
I guess "demand" is the correct term.

01:26:19
thank you I really appreciate this

01:26:49
It would be great to see how many people and who are on the call. Would like to connect and talk with others on these topics.

01:27:54
Hello Irit, Cesca, Kathy, Sean ... everyone else known or unknown to me. This is so great, Cherene. Love the way you've put this together. But it's intense, so much info all at once. Looking forward to the rest of the sessions. Peace and love from Treaty One Territory, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

01:27:56
Which request @sam? On ADs you need to check what is the law in your state and whether there are lawyers to help with it.

01:28:35
Howdy, Sean - and also Millie S!

01:29:04
PA does not require notarization

01:29:08
hello to all

01:29:11
By Sean I meant Stan - easy typo. But, warm greetings to all.

01:29:18
Stan, yes, this is a lot in one webinar. There will be more room to breathe and talk through things in the learning community meetings.

01:29:28
The desires you mentioned, of including those desires/demands in regular AD's, could one or would one get a lawyer to draft it up.

01:29:37
That was @ tina

01:31:13
@Tina. Just getting into "Norms and Implementation of CRPD Article 12" :-) Thank you.

01:31:45
I have a question. If suicide is not illegal, why is it reported to police or other authority. Yes I know liability, but logically if something is not illegal, one would not be liable since no crime com mitted

01:33:45
I would not use 988 just for that very issue. There are other problems too. A good local warm line is who I'd call.

01:34:32
@sam you can put it into a form for general ADs if available in your state. But check with lawyer or paralegal in your state about wording and what is binding. I am a lawyer and trust my advice for myself but as I do intl law and don’t keep up with US law I wouldn’t advise others.

01:34:58
@stan enjoy your exploring

01:35:20
Thank you, a lot of useful information and clearly presented

01:35:59
Well I'm in Canada

01:36:41
Check with lawyer or paralegal knowledgeable in this area, where you live.

01:36:51
thanks Tina

01:39:37
Hi Stan Rossowski. Irit. I’m on Vancouver Island, Nanaimo.

01:39:47
Thank you, everybody!!!

01:39:50
Anyone seeking further connection opportunities, you're invited to join us at the International Peer Respite/Soteria Summit. https://www.alternatives-conference.org/peerrespitesoteriasummit#. We did 25 hours of Zoom conference last October, all recorded on the site, and are organizing and working to promote and support these alternatives for people in distress.

01:40:02
Thank you for a great presentation!

01:40:24
Thank you, Jeremy and Cherene. Great ideas and great peresentation❤️

01:40:31
Great information and presentation Cherene!!

01:40:33
Stan, weren’t you in the prairies recently?

01:40:46
Thank you Jeremy, Cherene and all

01:40:50
Manitoba, yes

01:41:01
congrats on the move, if that’s what this is

01:41:03
Thank you so much for today's presentation!

01:41:15
