I can only speak for myself re "turning empathy off" questions above. I'm an "empath" and what has really helped me is not trying to turn it "off" but rather, remembering that I'm also a person that I need to listen to with the skills Dr Robert is discussing

-How do I get others to listen to me? What if I do if I listen and they still don't? Should I just give up on people who repeatedly make it clear that nothing I do will make them want to listen to me?-I care too much, I desperately want to stop caring so much. It feels like it's demanded of me and that approval is withdrawn if I don't care too much. People live rent free in my head and I want them OUT! How do I have less empathy and caring, and less fear if I don't?

I love the parallels between your work and Carolyn’s work. Existential Kink was really eye opening. The idea of getting a new core belief through story to the subconscious. As Carolyn says in her book, the subconscious gets what the subconscious wants.
