thank you for all your powerful and true tributes to Peter
Rodrigo Villagra
01:32:51
Dear Rodrigo,I respect your dutifulness. If you live to become a very old man, which I earnestly hope, and when very young people come to ask you what Lévi-Strauss was like, you can tell them. This fact, which is not yet a fact, is beautiful to me.Train well to become a shaman, and listen carefully to your teacher. Trust him.I do not know about those things, because I have never really done them. I stand on the threshhold of that world, in wonder.I know what is needed to make a Dr Villagra out of a Mr Villagra, and I promise you that I will do that, yours,Peter

Marcio Goldman
01:35:10
I'd like to deeply apologize both for having to leave due to an appointment made a long time ago. But also for not being able to accept Cecilia's kind invitation to speak - because I just can't do it yet.I just want to paraphrase what someone said about someone else:“He was one of the rare men who, when he walked into a room, changed the whole atmosphere. He was not just a person, in fact, none of us is just a person. It was like another air entered. It was a special air current. And things changed. It was an atmospheric factor. He had something of an emanation. Like a ray emission…”

Oi Rodrigo! Esta morando no Brasil?
Laura Bear
01:55:01
Its so true that Peter saw people fully--I knew him as a young anthropology lecturer at LSE--I remember him saying 'your work on Anglo-Indians' shows anxieties about nature existed before Marilyn wrote about them (I see Marilyn is here too!), I'm still working out the full meaning of that, so generous to young scholars and pushing them to be more original, deeply missed
