Making the most of Scottish High Court records
Scottish High Court records are packed with genealogical gems, as Emma Maxwell will explain in this exclusive presentation.

We may often think of these in terms of the perpetrator of a crime but what about the victims and witnesses? Should we be thinking more about the innocent people connected with a case, delving into their past and discovering their story?

* How did the involvement in a High Court case affect them?
* What clues should we be looking out for while we are researching?

In this illustrated presentation, Emma Maxwell, genealogist at scottishindexes.com will delve into a case from the 1870s.

An explosion in Glasgow touched the lives of many people; were your ancestors involved? Did they witness the accident? Emma will show you how to discover your ancestors’ stories; finding all the pieces of the jigsaw.

The 45-minute talk will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A, chaired by Chris Paton. The event will be recorded and the recording made available to ticket holders until 30 March.
