The Future of Authentication for eCommerce
Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) was fully enforced throughout Europe over the course of 2021- 2022 with the aim of decreasing payment fraud. According to the EBA’s 2021 annual report, fraud rates have seen declines of up to 50% since SCA has been introduced.*

SCA has, however, had the negative consequence of causing merchants to lose sales through consumer attrition at checkout due to the increased friction created by authentication.

During this webinar, Accertify will explore the future of authentication mandates and where these are likely to emerge next. Alongside this, Accertify will give an overview of new technologies designed to reduce authentication friction and give control of the authentication journey back to merchants.

Expect to hear about the merchant benefits of employing solutions that could help decrease friction:

- Real-time decisioning that utilises industry leading machine learning prior to authentication being sought to minimise business impacts.
- Alternative authentication options that avoid the potentially ineffective hand offs to issuer-controlled processes.
- Improved conversion rates due to increased control over the authentication journey and reduced friction.
