Town Hall with NOAA’s National Water Center: Programmatic Update and Opportunities for Collaboration
NOAA’s National Water Center (NWC) invites our current and future collaborators to attend a town hall to discuss current initiatives and opportunities for engagement. The town hall will contain a one hour presentation followed by a Q&A portion. The NWC enables NOAA’s National Weather Service, in partnership with other federal agencies and the academic community, to deliver a new generation of water information and services to the nation. These new services will improve preparedness for water-related disasters and inform high-value water decisions at the local, state and national levels. The NWC fosters scientific excellence and innovation, improving water prediction capabilities to support decisions for a water-resilient nation. Scientists at the NWC collaboratively research, develop and deliver state-of-the-science national hydrologic analyses, forecast information, data, decision-support services and guidance to support and inform essential emergency services and high-value water management decisions. The NWC supports many collaboration opportunities for our academic and federal partners, including grant programs and our Summer Institute. Town Hall participants will learn about the NWC’s current development and operations activities and opportunities to get involved.
