Implementing Effective Risk-Reduction Vibration Monitoring Programs
Description
This webinar will provide an overview of the fundamentals recommended to implement an effective risk-reduction vibration monitoring program for your project.
The webinar will provide a basic overview of the mechanics of vibrations; a summary of best practices literature related to vibration monitoring programs; listing of key considerations in configuring your site-specific vibration monitoring program; and finally, a case study illustration of the INZWA monitors applied to a project. We will also illustrate our upcoming state-of-the-art, near-real-time monitoring and alerting system designed to provide continuous and expansive vibration monitoring throughout the project site to automatically send alerts to designated contacts when the vibration threshold has been exceeded at or outside the project limits.

Dr. Storesund has been planning, designing, engineering, and constructing since 1998 and has worked on a variety of projects throughout California, the United States, and internationally. He provides consulting services in all aspects of civil, geotechnical, water resources, ecological, restoration, and sustainability engineering projects. His expertise is on the application of reliability and risk-based approaches to engineering projects (with a specialization in environmental restoration and flood control projects) in order to effectively manage project uncertainties. He provides expert forensic engineering services for geotechnical and civil infrastructure systems. In addition to traditional engineering services, he provides consultations on field instrumentation and monitoring programs as well as Terrestrial LiDAR field survey services. His doctoral research was on life-cycle, reliability-based river restoration.
