Harvester Ants: The Tiny Millers That Make Their Own Flour
Perhaps you’ve never considered the tireless work ants perform that benefit entire ecosystems. We’d like to introduce you to one species with an oversized impact on our upland habitats. Harvester ants get their name from their habit of gathering grain and storing it in special granaries. What they do next and how they protect their cache makes for some fascinating storytelling!

This webinar is recommended for adults and youth over 12. Come by the Cultural and Natural History Center during its open hours to see the six-foot tall exhibit of the cast of a real harvester ant nest!
